ABOUT OUR WAKEBOARD TOUR
Wakeboard is a radical water sport practiced on a board, similar to a Snowboard board, in which the participant is towed by a boat or a Jet Ski with the aid of a cable and a lever. Taking advantage of the waves left by the boat, the athlete performs maneuvers as he is pulled, jumping from one side to the other.
Besides the speed achieved by the boat, it is possible to make several fabulous maneuvers, making the sport more fun and radical. Even those who have never done wakeboarding can do it, as it is a sport for all ages and difficulty level is proportional to the type of maneuver that you want to do.
In general, wakeboarding is easy and anyone can learn, including those who have never practiced, or even who can not swim, as our safety equipment also includes a lifejacket.
The best place to practice wakeboarding is in calm water with no waves, so we offer wakeboard in Canal da Barra, when tide is entering, because it's when the water is super clean and crystalline. We also offer wakeboard in Niterói city on several beaches, including oceanic beaches, which are cleaner.
All the places where we offer wakeboard tour have incredible landscapes, with a privileged vision of Sugar Loaf, for example, and also for some islands.
A LITTLE OF WAKEBOARD HISTORY IN THE WORLD
It was invented in the United States and initially practiced with a surfboard with anchorages. It emerged as an alternative for surfers in the days of few waves, more precisely in 1.979, when North American Tony Finn invented "skurfing", this sport embryo.
This practice soon became popular all over the world, including in Brazil. From then on, new models were built and perfected until the arrival of Hyper XP, in 1.988. Hyper XP is board created by American Herb O Brien and Hawaiian Eric Perez, capable of allowing greater speed and greater maneuvers use. With this board, Perez became a world champion.
